For 15 years as the former Editor of the ACFAS Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery, and the recipient of the 2022 ACFAS Distinguished Service Award, I strived to make sure every article we published was scientifically sound and useful to foot and ankle doctors and surgeons as well as to the entire medical community. For our Symposium in Philadelphia I have used that body of knowledge and experience to create an education program that would benefit any podiatrist at any level.

How is this program different from other Podiatry Institute seminars?
Obviously partnering with a residency program is unique from the 2026 PI seminars, but we felt this would create an educational program that would have a substantial body of knowledge. Also, having a condensed 20 CME hour program in 2.5 days maximizes the attendee’s time.
 
It seems like this just came out just months before the event?
I was very intentional about the body of this program. I wanted to get just the right mix of topics and presenters to make a solid program. That takes time.
 
Why is it at the National Board of Medical Examiners?
The NBME has a contract with the Penn Presbyterian Podiatric Surgery Residency to provide space for educational programs. They have excellent facilities that rival any education space. They also work with a local caterer, so you will be well fed.
 
Is there parking available?
Yes, parking will be provided by the Penn Presbyterian Podiatric Surgery Residency from its lot just over a block from the NBME. There is also a lot directly across the street from NBME, and several lots within a short walk. The facility is also accessible by train at the 38^th Street station.
 
What is the hotel situation?
There are a number of hotels within a short walk of NBME, and at a variety of price points. You can find a list of them here.
 
How many hours are available?
This event offers 20 CME hours over 2.5 days from Friday, October 2 to Sunday, October 4. All CME is approved by the CPME.
 
Will there by exhibitors?
Yes. There is a small exhibit hall of up to 20 vendors. Exhibitor applications can be found here.
 
Is there a virtual option?
Yes. Up to 100 registrants can attend in-person, but a virtual live stream and on-demand registration is also available. All attendees will receive a recording of the event, and on-demand CME would be available with completion of a quiz for each section. (Note: On-demand recordings carry inherent risks. Recording glitches can happen.)
 
Will there be food?
Yes, in-person registration includes continental breakfast and lunch.

All cancellation/rescheduling requests must be made in writing. Cancellation requests can be sent via fax to 404-508-8539 or email to pi-info@podiatryinstitute.com. Cancellations requiring a refund will be assessed a $75 cancellation fee. Transfer requests are not subject to a cancellation fee and will be valid for a period of one year from the date of issue. Registration fees are non-refundable/non-transferrable within two weeks of the conference start date.
